Stephenie Rulli has her undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati, and a Master's in Education from Xavier University. In 2010 The Miracle Mind , Sonya’s Story was published and she along with Mary and Sonya took their message to caregivers and the medical community by: Speaking nationally at conferences, providing a step by step guide for caregivers and educating medical professionals to the caregivers everyday struggles after discharge . Stephenie volunteers with many local organizations and has traveled with CardioStart International training nurses.
Sonya Rulli has been married for 57 years and is the mother of 7 children. For 10 years she was the caregiver for her mother-in-law, who suffered the debilitating effects of a stroke. Sonya has an extraordinary capacity for giving and to selflessly do whatever is necessary to help others. Because of her compassion and ability to "figure things out" she developed the foundation for The Miracle Mind program. Sonya has volunteered throughout her life and is currently a Meals on Wheels volunteer.
Mary Rulli graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and has worked in the publishing industry for over 25 years. She and her sister Stephenie formed Sempervivum Publishing and published The Miracle Mind, Sonya's Story. Sempervivum means always living. Sonya’s Story encourages this philosophy by honoring the lives and wisdom of the people that came together to make a difference in the life of a cherished family member. The Miracle Mind, Sonya's Story is a roadmap for other families experiencing caregiving issues to also come together.

23 Seconds

Dear

Allow us to introduce ourselves; we are Sempervivum Publishing, LLC, publishers of The Miracle Mind:  Sonya’s Story, a guidebook to help caregivers and families of loved ones with brain injury bridge the gap from hospital care to aftercare.  It was inspired by our grandmother’s severe stroke which dramatically changed not only her life, but our lives as well.  The book includes easy-to-use forms and checklists that help conquer chaos, prevent burnout, and prepare the caregiver for his or her new role. Numerous worksheets offer tools caregivers can use to engage their loved one in activates that help him or her regain confidence and skills necessary to reconnect with family, friends, and life.

Every caregiver and survivor deserves the best quality of life possible.  The Miracle Mind is currently being used in hospitals, home health care agencies, and caregiver homes and we believe it has the power to change lives.  In fact, we saw that happen for our grandmother.

Brain Injury Association of Ohio (BIAOH) estimates that 1.4 million brain injuries occur each year in the USA.   Every 23 seconds a person’s life changes forever, and the impact spreads quickly to family and friends.

BIAOH believes caregiver s can benefit from information, suggestions and the inspiration shared in The Miracle Mind, Sonya’s Story. Please join in by contributing to the “23 second campaign.” Our goal is to have a minimum of 100 books sponsored to present to BIAOH at the annual “Walk for Thought” event on May 28, 2010. This initiative will kick off the “23 second campaign” to help us reach the 7,300 Ohioans hospitalized each year with a brain injury and the over 200,000 Ohioans who live with the residual effects of a brain injury every day.

As a special offer for this sponsorship, we have reduced the price and waived the shipping fees.

We are asking you to sponsor as many books as you can at the rate of $36.00 per book.

By making a donation you will:

  • Know you are helping a caregiver as well as the brain-injured person
  • See your logo or company name and address on the back of the book
  • Receive a tax deduction when your check is made out to BIAOH

We appreciate your generosity and your support.  Your donation will help empower families with hope and confidence.  Checks should be made out to BIAOH and mailed with the form below to Sempervivum Publishing, LLC at P.O. Box 135, Overpeck, OH 45055. We will provide a receipt from BIAOH with their non-profit information for tax purposes.  For questions please call 513-374-4217.
